“A ribonucleic acid vaccine or messenger RNA vaccine is a type of vaccine that uses a copy of a natural chemical called messenger RNA to produce an immune response.”
mRNA vaccines are a new type of vaccine to protect against infectious diseases. mRNA vaccines teach our cells how to make the protein that triggers an immune response inside our bodies. There are so far two approved vaccines available that use this technology. One by Pfizer and the other by Moderna.

The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. Read more about these efforts by clicking here.
Mobile teams are stepping up efforts across the city, in order to reach communities in hot spot areas. The City of Toronto will open three more COVID-19 immunization clinics tomorrow.
“The addition of these new clinics will ensure nine City-operated immunization clinics are operating across Toronto – the backbone of the Team Toronto approach to the vaccination rollout. Once all nine of the City-operated vaccination clinics are open tomorrow, City-run clinics will have a weekly vaccination capacity based on anticipated supply of more than 10,000 doses per day. These capacity can be increased if additional supply were to become available from the Government of Canada.”
For more information on the roll out, and the postal codes involved in the hot spots go to the City of Toronto website.
